CANDIDATE'S STATEMENT
Serving on American Canyon City Council is a commitment to building a better community. I have lived in Napa County for 24 years. I have shown my commitment by working with people with diverse points of view to achieve objectives for school bonds, flood control and farm worker housing. I have contributed my leadership abilities as President of the Board of Community Action of Napa Valley providing services for nutrition, child care and homeless shelter as well as Meals on Wheels. I currently serve on the Napa Valley Unified Education Foundation donating to classroom enhancements for teachers and children and building Playground Fantastico. I am a board member of the Girl Scout Council of Napa Solano. I helped to develop the county’s Youth Violence Prevention Plan. I am an active member of the American Canyon Chamber of Commerce, the Kiwanis Club and the city Activities Committee. American Canyon’s sense of community makes our quality of life special. I believe that we should pursue a policy of managed growth. We should build a new high school, support the city’s infrastructure needs, assure that recreation and community services are available, and provide an economic environment that attracts corporate, professional and retail business.
